Jimmy Tate

Jimmy  has been tapping since the age of 13. He first studied with Tony award winner Danny Daniels, and then with muti-tony winner Henry LeTang.
Jimmy’s first appeared on Broadway playing the title role in “The Tap Dance Kid. After that he went on to appear in “Big River”, “Jelly’s Last Jam”, Bring in ‘da Noise Bring in ‘da Funk”, and “Riverdance”.
On Broadway, Jimmy Has shared the stage with artists such as: Gregory Hines, Savion Glover, Ben Vereen, Phylicia Rashad, Ann Reinking, and three time Tony winner Hinton Battle.
Jimmy replaced Tony award winner Savion Glover in his tony-award winning lead role in Bring in ‘da Noise Bring in ‘da Funk. He has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno three times, twice on the Rosie O’Donnel, show and once on Late Night with David Letterman. Jimmy has also appeared on the Tony awards, Grammy awards, Drama desk awards, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, Kennedy Center Honors, and the 1997 Presidential Inauguration for former President Bill Clinton. Jimmy is also an accomplished singer/songwriter and guitarist. He wrote and produced his solo album “Play Me” in 2000.
